Airworthiness Directive (AD)

An Airworthiness Directive (AD) is a product-related airworthiness order issued by the Technical Airworthiness Authority (TAA). An AD is developed and issued by the TAA when mandatory action is necessary to rectify a potential degradation in the level of safety of in-service aeronautical products from a design deficiency or product shortcoming.
